Who We Are.
LeadHer to Purpose is an intergenerational, prevention focused organization that invests in girls and the caregivers raising them before challenges become crises. While many systems step in only after a family experiences significant hardship, we move earlier, strengthening protective factors through leadership development, identity affirmation, family connection, wellness, and access to opportunity. By equipping girls and caregivers with the skills, relationships, and resources they need to thrive, we help create stronger families, healthier communities, and lasting generational impact.
Our programs, Leadership in Action and Rooted & Rising, were created to help girls and caregivers grow together and rise into the confident leaders our communities need.
Through ongoing leadership development, intergenerational workshops, and community partnerships, we build the identity, belonging, voice, and opportunity that research links to healthy development. The impact is generational: girls rise with self worth and voice, caregivers gain the tools and confidence to lead their families toward stability and purpose, and communities grow stronger from the inside out. When we strengthen the root, the caregiver, the whole tree thrives. That is how we build lasting change, one family, one village, and one legacy at a time.

How we work
Step number 1:
Connect & LearnWe start by listening, understanding your school or organization’s goals, challenges, and the girls you serve. This helps us tailor every experience to your community’s unique needs.
Step number 2:
Co-Design the ExperienceTogether, we select the right program or workshop series from Bloom Academy to Roots & Rising and customize the schedule, focus areas, and facilitators.
Step number 3:
Facilitate & EngageOur team leads interactive, culturally grounded sessions that center identity, healing, and leadership, creating safe spaces for girls to grow in confidence and purpose.

Continue the PartnershipWe believe in long-term impact. After each program, we share insights, resources, and opportunities to deepen collaboration and sustain momentum.

Our Story
LeadHer to Purpose exists to strengthen the roots that sustain our families and nurture the branches that shape our future. We believe that when caregivers are equipped to lead with love, healing, and strength, the girls in their care thrive and entire communities rise with them.Founded in 2024, By Chelsey Barnes, LeadHer to Purpose was born from a vision to reimagine what support looks like for girls and the adults guiding them. Across the country, in underfunded communities, caregivers often carry the invisible weight of raising the next generation without the tools, support systems, or resources they need to fully lead and sustain their families. Too often, programs pour into girls while the families raising them go unsupported, and the growth that should last quietly fades. We see those families. We stand with them. And we build spaces that affirm their strength.This is why we work upstream. As an intergenerational, prevention focused organization, we invest in girls and caregivers early, strengthening the protective factors that help families thrive before challenges become crises. Through culturally grounded programs built for both girls and the caregivers raising them, we center identity, leadership, family connection, wellness, and access to opportunity.Our programs make this real. Leadership in Action is a leadership development, career exploration, and identity nurturing program for girls, building confidence, voice, and future readiness through mentorship, real world exposure, and community problem solving. Rooted & Rising brings girls and caregivers together to strengthen identity, communication, wellness, and shared vision, helping families build leadership at home, in community, and across generations.LeadHer to Purpose is more than an initiative. It is a village in motion. From schools and community centers to faith based spaces, we partner with families and organizations to cultivate belonging, confidence, and intergenerational leadership. Because when the root is strong, the whole tree flourishes.
Our Programs
Rooted & Rising Program
Rooted & Rising Program: an intergenerational leadership and legacy experience that brings caregivers and girls (ages 11 to 18) together to grow, lead, and rise side by side.Rooted & Rising is prevention in action. Rather than waiting for families to reach a crisis, we invest early, strengthening the relationships, confidence, and access to opportunities that help families thrive across generations. Through quarterly workshops and a intergenerational cohort experience, participants journey through our four pillars: Rooted in Our Story, Nourishing Who We Are, Speaking Life Into Us, and Building Our Legacy. Each gathering is designed to nurture identity, strengthen family connection, and build the confidence and skills needed to lead boldly at home, in community, and across generations.The cohort experience goes beyond traditional youth development by strengthening both the girl and the family unit. Families participate in intergenerational leadership workshops, have access to dedicated family advocates who connect them to resources and support, access to wellness practices, and community building experiences that deepen trust and belonging. The goal is for caregivers to leave equipped to design a roadmap toward stability and purpose for their families, as confident decision makers and leaders in their own homes.Every journey culminates in a Rites of Passage Ceremony, honoring each participant's growth, voice, and legacy.Through Rooted & Rising, families will:
Strengthen communication, trust, and connection between caregivers and girls
Grow in confidence, self advocacy, and leadership
Build emotional awareness and everyday wellness practices that support the whole family
Gain knowledge of and access to resources and supports they qualify for, without stigma
Stay connected through an ongoing community of care and celebration
Rooted & Rising is built on a simple truth: families do not rise alone. When caregivers are equipped and girls are affirmed, protective factors grow stronger, cycles begin to shift, and new legacies are born.
Leadership in Action
Leadership in Action is a leadership development, career exploration and identity nurturing program for girls in grades four through twelve. Designed to prepare girls for the futures they imagine, LeadHership in Action nurtures identity, builds leadership skills, and expands access to opportunity through mentorship, creative expression, and real world exposure.Grounded in the belief that every girl deserves a world where they grow up equipped with self assurance, tenacity and a support system that leads her to a life of purpose. Leadership in Action strengthens girls' confidence, language, and skills needed to lead in their lives, schools, homes, and communities. Through culturally affirming experiences and leadership practice, girls learn how their identity informs their leadership and how their voice, choices, and talents shape their future pathways.Leadership in Action is a core pathway within LeadHer to Purpose, supporting girls in becoming grounded, capable, and prepared to navigate education, leadership, and career opportunities with clarity and confidence to develop the future they imagine.The program is rooted in three core pillars:
